I Write the Songs is a website geared toward educating and helping new and aspiring songwriters advance in the craft of songwriting and knowledge of the music industry. In an effort to give songwriters opportunities to grow in their craft I Write the Songs hosts contest throughout the year for designated genres of music. Contest are especially for the amateur songwriter who is looking for an opportunity to have objective comments made concerning each entry. Each song entred in an IWS Contest is judged on lyrics, prosody, emotional/commercial impact, originality, and creativity. Each entrant is sent a critique sheet with comments on each entry they submit. Judges for the contest are all musical professionals with experience in critiquing material for publishers, record companies, songwriting competitions and workshops. Five finalists are chosen for the final screening of celebrity judges. Keep checking back to the website for further information on upcoming contests! |
