Mary Dawson: host of I Write the Songs has been writing songs
that pull at the heartstrings of listeners for many years. A published
professional songwriter, Mary is president of CQK Records & Music of Dallas,
Texas, a company which creates and produces songs in a panorama of musical styles
for a variety of audiences. Mary's commitment to discovering and mentoring
talented new songwriters has given her extensive experience in song analysis
through adjudicating songwriting competitions and conducting songwriting workshops
across the country and around the world. Because of her role as president of an
independent music company, she is also well qualified to instruct aspiring
songwriters on the various business aspects of the music industry.

Sharon Braxton: (Co-host) comes to I Write the Songs from a
multi-faceted background in arts, media journalism and law. After a career as a
business litigation attorney, Sharon became an award-winning journalist with
KRLD News in Dallas, Texas, where she produced features covering the
entertainment industry including a special five-part series on the history of
jazz in Dallas. She has also worked as an actress, dancer, drama director, and
public relations director. Married to jazz saxophonist, Tom Braxton, Sharon
loves to use her musical training in piano and clarinet to help Tom create new
melodies and to use her legal expertise to represent her husband as an artist
in the music industry.

Dell Johnson: (Producer & Engineer) Dell is an accomplished
producer, songwriter/composer and arranger. For more than 20 years Dell was
employed at a top computer company where he held several management positions. Then
he began pursuing a career in music by taking private piano lessons with Mr. Bob
Lawrence (founder of the prestigious Dallas School of Music) and studying music
theory at the University of North Texas' renown Music College. He also attended the
Art Institute of Dallas to better understand the audio recording process. Dell is
also the owner-operator of Preston Studios.

website) We do not return demos and we cannot guarantee that your song will be
selected, but if your song is chosen for critique we will let you know when the
program containing your song will air and we will also send you a cassette copy of
the broadcast for your records.
